The concept of online train time table was thus introduced by the Railway Ministry to simplify the process of railway booking as well as to provide comprehensive information on the Indian Railways and all other associated services. The Indian Railways Train Schedule provides complete information on station code, station name, route number, arrival and departure time of the trains, halt at stations, distance between the stations and the frequency of operation of the trains i.e. how many and on what days the trains operate.

The Train Schedule

Earlier the passengers would rely on the Indian Railways train schedule published in the forms of books and revised/ edited every year (for inclusion of new trains). However, it lacked real time data and the amendments in time and route could not be reflected instantly and correctly. The online schedule provided relief to passengers from all sections of the society providing ready information in all respects.
